ID Released Of Woman Fatally Struck Crossing Long Island Roadwau

The identity has been released of a woman who was struck and killed in a crash on Long Island.

The incident happened at about 1:15 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 21, on Hempstead Turnpike near the intersection of Uniondale Avenue in Uniondale.

The incident happened at about 1:15 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 21, on Hempstead Turnpike near the intersection of Uniondale Avenue in Uniondale. 

A 25-year-old man driving a 1995 Lexus westbound on the turnpike hit the woman as she was crossing the road, according to Nassau County Police said.

The driver remained at the scene, and the victim was taken to a nearby hospital by a Nassau County Police ambulance. 

The woman, now ID'd as Delphine Henderson, age 67, of Hempstead. was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

The investigation is ongoing.
